La Ribera del Duero cumple 40 años y el Diario “Vanitatis” hace mención a Dominio de Calogía entre las bodegas que más eco tienen en los últimos tiempos.

El valor que va ganando desde hace años la Ribera burgalesa, y más en este momento en el que las altas temperaturas empujan a buscar zonas frescas y altura en los viñedos, ha hecho de Burgos una provincia de enorme atractivo para las bodegas que llegan a la Ribera. Dominio de Calogía (Roa, Burgos) es una de las que más ruido ha hecho tras su fundación por ser el proyecto personal del reconocido enólogo José Manuel Pérez Ovejas, hasta hace unos pocos años el artífice de los vinos (en concreto, treinta cosechas) de la histórica casa familiar Hermanos Pérez Pascuas. Ahora, Dominio de Calogía es un sueño hecho realidad que se materializaba hace dos años en su tierra natal, entre los pueblos de Roa y Pedrosa de Duero. Una bodega-boutique moderna, rodeada de los viñedos que le son propios ubicados en el pago del que recibe el nombre. Y fruto de la experiencia, conocimiento y saber hacer de José Manuel su primera elaboración, Dominio de Calogía 2019 (70 € aprox.), un tempranillo con una crianza de 14 meses en roble francés que se muestra elegante, con gran estructura, fruta roja y frescura, con toques balsámicos y muy largo en el paso. Un gran vino al que ya he salido un ‘hermano’ mayor, por singular exclusivo, Dominio de Calogía Cuvée ‘S’ 2019, del que solo salen 2.500 botellas numeradas.

recognition and approval, now has a new relative – Cuvée ´S´. This label restates
the winery’s commitment to making top-of-the-range wines.

Roa (Burgos), octubre de 2022.- Cuvée ´S is the name given to this new wine stemming from renowned oenologist from Ribera del Duero, José Manuel Pérez Ovejas’, personal venture.

Dominio de Calogía by José Manuel Pérez Ovejas Cuvée ´S´ 2019 reflects the unique nature of an exceptional concept. The batch comprises only 2,500 bottles and condenses the exclusivity of a great wine that pursues excellence. This upshot, which is characterised by authenticity, has been achieved from an old single vineyard given the utmost care and José Manuel’s very own wine-making. The 26-month ageing in French oak barrels has been
rigorously guided and adjusted with the utmost respect for the wine resting inside.

‘CALOGÍA’ TERROIR´. THE EXPRESSION OF THE ORIGIN.

Domain of Calogy by José Manuel Pérez Ovejas Cuvée ´S´ 2019 has been made from the oldest vineyards on the estate. Control is exhaustive and production is drastically limited by severely thinning clusters to achieve the utmost quality. Rigorous fruit selection is the perfect culmination of this undertaking, which represents contemplation of the land and the surroundings.
It is an expert interpretation of the vineyard, in which sensitivity is the driving force to achieve the objective: making a unique wine.
