“We share the article published in Más Castilla y León magazine about Dominio de Calogía. It highlights the essence and authenticity of our winery, as well as our unique vision of the vineyard, which allows us to produce a wine renowned for its silkiness and elegance.”
Calology was, for the Greeks, the science that studies beauty. From there comes the word calogía, which gives its name to the estate where the winery led by José Manuel Pérez Ovejas is located. And if beauty equates to goodness or justice, as the Hellenes once said, José Manuel is dedicated to producing exquisite wines from his 22 hectares of vineyard located between Roa and Pedrosa de Duero.
The project began in 2019, within the concept of a boutique winery, based on small-scale productions of carefully crafted wines, with greater dedication and care. By using exclusively his own grapes, he can carry out winemaking by vineyard and by plot.
“I try to make wines with personality, to escape the rusticity often attributed to Ribera, and to seek finesse, subtlety, and elegance,” emphasized José Manuel, who exports 35% of his production.
