If it’s an even year, a new Calogia arrives. In recent times, the young project of Josรฉ Manuel Pรฉrez Ovejas has been bringing in new references at a rate of one every two years. He launched it in 2019 with a single initial wine that saw the light of day in 2021; the following year he launched Dominio de Calogia Cuvรฉe S, presented as a wine of greater selection; the third one arrives now and it is a more accessible proposal in terms of price. Doble M explores the freshest line of the Ribera de Duero, without losing a noble energy, without tannic pastiness, a style that links with the approach of this winery and with the vanguard of the reds of the area, many nuances in a deep, concentrated nose, based on the fruity expression of good maturity, black fruits, blue flowers, with floral notes (lilacs) and balsamic and a spicy touch of well-measured ageing. With a lot of nerve in the mouth, it does not lack body or consistency, with a clear reference to the caste of the area, but the acidity and balance give it a plus of finesse; tasty, ample and fine in aromas, long.
